Off-Grid Essentials

Some of our absolute favorite locations in our RV have been off-grid. We’ve parked out in the middle of Flaming Gorge, on the mountainside in the Big Horns, and at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. It’s peaceful. There aren’t usually neighbors when boondocking. Here’s how we make it happen.

EcoFlow Portable Power Station

This thing is amazing. It can be powered by being plugged in, by solar, or with a gas generator.

30Amp Transfer Switch

To keep our EcoFlow inside, Kelly set up a plug inside.

Shore Power Inlet 30 Amp

To keep our EcoFlow inside, Kelly set up a plug inside.

63 Gallon Water Bladder

When you’re somewhere amazing, getting more water helps you stay longer.

21-Gallon RV Portable Waste Tank

Yes, there are bigger waste tanks. Consider that you’ll need to get this into the back of your truck or pull it somewhere.

Gas Generator

When the sun isn’t out, it’s been great to have another way to charge our EcoFlow.

Portable Fire Pit

Off-grid is more like camping and this little fire pit is great! A lot less smoke and heat ALL around.

Solar Lights

Being in the middle of nowhere, it’s peaceful, but there might also be noises. It’s nice to have these on the outside of the RV to alert us and them. It’s also great when we gotta run out to the truck for something in the dark.
